~my teeny tiny container garden~

Way back in 2012, I saw this article in Better Homes & Gardens and fell in love with the use of these troughs for garden beds.

That picture has stuck in my mind like glue.

So, I finally saved up enough dough and bought 3 troughs.
You can find them at home improvement stores, feed stores, or amazon here.
I bought 3, and when I got them home, they looked a little out of place on top of the ground, so I dug and dug, and dug, and dug some more, until they were close to ground level, then filled them with soil.

So far this year I only have tomatoes, bell peppers, and a variety of herbs. This little garden is close to our kitchen, so it's very handy.

Yesterday I got this wild idea to put flagstone all around. I am not quite done yet, but I like that it turns it into more of a distinct garden area.
Still lots of work to do, but here are my containers so far!

This is making me hungry!

~our hot cocoa station in Better Homes & Gardens~

When Better Homes And Gardens photographed our house a couple years ago they took pictures of our hot cocoa station.
Normally, the back of our niche sports a Pottery Barn decal of caesar salad dressing recipe.

But, for the Christmas shoot they wanted something that actually went with the hot cocoa! So, they came up with this and printed it to fit the wall.
Today I am sharing it with you! All you have to do is save it to your computer, then have it printed into a large engineering print through Staples. It'll set you back a whole $1.67 or something like that!

And here it is, all styled for the photo shoot!

Happy holidays!

~better homes & gardens~

A couple years ago now, our home was featured in Better Homes And Gardens Christmas Ideas Magazine.
Here we all are, minus my husband who didn't want to miss work that day.

Since then some of the images have been popping up on their website which is fun to see!

Above is an advent calendar I made. Below is a chalkboard in our dining room.

It's kinda nice that the pictures they took 2 years ago are still in style today!
Have you started your Christmas decorating yet?

~sources from our home tour & a winner~

Thank you all for the wonderful comments on our home. Like I said, fall is my favorite time of year, so I especially like decorating for it!
I wanted to share with you a few sources, so here we go. If I've skipped over anything, please let me know!

First up, lets start with the living room:
This pillow is on sale!

This little fur one is so soft:

Speaking of fur, I couldn't be more in love with this blanket:

Another soft blanket I have on the couch is this herringbone throw.
I got it after it was used in a Country Living photo shoot I helped style.
I just couldn't resist.

Back to the pillows. This one is a screaming deal:

As are these:

On the coffee table I have this urn and these pumpkins. Love, love, love them both:

Moving onto the dining room:

This science poster is off the charts cool!

The lazy susan wine barrel server I made, and you can see the tutorial here.

I also made the "bar" You can see that here.

The books in my hutch can be found here in my etsy shop.

The dining chairs are a combination of these {in the weathered oak finish} and these:

And finally, the kitchen. The wine bottle dryer I got on ebay. It's a authentic French antique. However, I do have a smaller one that I take from room to room, including outdoors that I love. You can find it here.

I love mixing up all the mugs.
These mugs are fun colors:

I love my monogram mugs!

And I love these almost as much.

I made this sign:

Above my computer desk I have 2 orange frames. They are made by me and can be found in my etsy shop.

I finally got the cow head I've been wanting off Decor Steals.

Don't forget to visit the rest of the houses on this tour! Today is The Handmade Home, All Things Heart & Home In my Own Style and finally, Better Homes And Gardens!
