~spring potting bench~

This weather has me longing for spring.
I dusted off the old potting bench on the deck and filled it with all the necessities for a little gardening.
My favorite piece is my green tiered tray from The Painted Fox.
You can find it here.

Hooray for sunny weather!

~the painted fox challenge~

Have you heard of the Painted Fox?
It is a great place to shop for farmhouse swag.
And welcome, if you are following along on this tour and coming from my friend
 Laura's blog, Finding Home.

I was chosen along with 8 other bloggers to be sent a "mystery" product from their shop and then use it in a creative way in my own home.

I was thrilled when I opened up the box and saw this metal 3-tier tray!

Green is my favorite color, and it has these great
chippy rusty looking spots that are just fabulous.

I wouldn't say this is the most creative idea I have ever come up with, but with the season and all, it was just screaming at me to fill with pumpkins and apples and pears off the trees.

I am even more excited to decorate this at Christmastime,
but truly it could be used and left out year round.

To see what Kelly of Live Laugh Rowe has done with her mystery product,
 head on over here!

~up close & personal~{in the garden}

I do not consider myself a gardener, but I am really enjoying spending time outside lately poking around and doing what I can to make things look pretty.

I walked around yesterday and took a few photos of some of the things popping up.
These photos are mainly close ups, but hopefully I will be taking some all over shots in the near future.

Isn't this time of year magnificent?
Hope you all are having a great Friday!

~thrifty thursday~{paper organization}

I love being organized.
When I am looking for a recipe or a document, I want to be able to go right to it.
 However, my paper piles have been accumulating and I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed.

So when I found this large wooden box at the thrift store for $4.99, I knew just what to do.

The first thing I did was paint it a less "shocking" color.
I chose Rosmary by Sherwin Williams.

Then I headed to Staples and picked up 50 file folders and
 an adjustable metal rack for them to hang from.

 I printed out labels for the tabs on card stock in the Asterism font.

 Then I spent the next two hours organizing and filing papers.
I feel so organized now!

This is jus the beginning of my Spring cleaning!
